Biznet breakfast - Ballarat

Join us for the August Biznet breakfast and hear from Konfir Kabo & Karen Livingstone AM facilitated by Damien Butler.

Join us for the August Biznet breakfast and be inspired by an impressive panel discussing philanthropy and volunteerism featuring Karen Livingstone AM & Konfir Kabo to be facilitated by Damien Butler, principal of Butler Chartered Accountants and immediate past president at Sovereign Hill.

Karen Livingstone AM received a Member of the Order (AM) in 2019 for her advocacy work in women's health. After losing her mother, father and husband to cancer, Karen Livingstone AM turned her personal tragedy into a force for public good. After the death of her mother, she co-founded Ovarian Cancer Australia in 2001 to be a national voice for ovarian cancer patients.

Karen has worked tirelessly with organisations to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and to address survival rates that languish far below those for other types of cancer. Karen is also head of fundraising and development for Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group and has previously been a founding member of the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance of Australia.

Konfir Kabo is the founding partner of Kabo Lawyers, a law firm based in Melbourne, Australia. He is also the CEO of Aksara Group, a service station investment trust.

Konfir has been an avid art collector for the past decade and is a passionate patron of the arts through Project 11, a philanthropic initiative he established with his wife. Project 11 works with key institutions such as the University of Melbourne, Monash University and RMIT University as well as arts organisations such as the National Gallery of Australia, Arts Centre Melbourne, Multicultural Arts Victoria, Melbourne Recital Centre and Musica Viva.

Aside from the arts, Konfir also supports health initiatives such as autism research with OTARC, Australian Prostate Cancer Research and the Skin Cancer Foundation.

This event will follow all COVID Safe requirements, and strict hygiene and social distancing measures will be in place.
